“On the eve of the III International Buddhist Forum, India is making a generous gesture – it is planned to bring the sacred relic of Shakyamuni Buddha to Kalmykia for worship. In addition, the Indian side intends to present a consecrated statue of the Teacher. It is important to coordinate this with the Shajin Lama to ensure that everything is organised with the appropriate reverence and in full accordance with all canons and traditions,” - said the Head of Kalmykia.
Batu Khasikov also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Vinay Kumar for the visit, which symbolises not only the warm relations between Russia and India but also the special attention being given to Kalmykia.
