Buddhist Communities of Kalmykia discuss the Upcoming International Buddhist Forum

Each day brings us closer to a significant event that will take place in Kalmykia this fall — the III International Buddhist Forum.
Residents of the republic are actively preparing for the event: public areas are being improved, khuruls are being renovated, and stupas are being opened. In addition, the First Deputy Chairman of the Republic of Kalmykia, Erdni Tserenov — appointed by the Head of the Republic, Batu Khasikov, as the official responsible for the Forum — is holding meetings with the public.

Just recently, he met with representatives of Buddhist communities in Kalmykia. The meeting was attended by leaders of public organizations and Buddhist centers, activists and community members actively involved in the development of Buddhism.

“We discussed the Forum’s program, talked about the upcoming events and received valuable feedback from the participants. I am glad that representatives of all Buddhist schools and the public are united in their desire to hold the Forum at a high level. Everyone is ready to support the initiative, and we are confident it will become a significant event for our republic and for all believers,” - said Tserenov.
