Press conference on the III International Buddhist Forum

Press conference devoted to the III International Buddhist Forum to be held in Elista on September 25-28.

Participants:

- Batu KHASIKOV, head of the Republic of Kalmykia;

- Alexei MASLOV, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Countries of Lomonosov Moscow State University, President of the Foundation for Promotion of Buddhist Education and Research;

- Igor PAVLOV, First Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Eastern Economic Forum;

- Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Buddhists Geshe Yonten Lodoy (Sergey KIRISHOV).

The event will talk about the business and cultural program of the International Buddhist Forum, as well as about its participants. Among the main topics of the forum: the preservation and development of the institution of monasticism, the prospects and practice of traditional medicine of Buddhist countries, Buddhism and the development of tourism potential.

The influence of Buddhist values on the choice of economic priorities and peacemaking processes, philosophical aspects of the teachings and other problems will be discussed. In total, more than 50 events are planned.

Entrance for media representatives is subject to prior accreditation only upon presentation of a passport and a valid editorial certificate confirming the journalist's affiliation with the media outlet from which he or she is accredited.
