Over 520 volunteers apply to participate in the International Buddhist Forum in Kalmykia

Applicants include representatives from over 30 regions of Russia, as well as from Asian countries such as Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China and Mongolia.

One of the key requirements for volunteers is a high level of proficiency in foreign languages, particularly English and Chinese. The selected young people will accompany foreign delegations and assist guests in navigating the forum's locations and business program during this major spiritual event.

"It is planned to select 200 volunteers, who will undergo training ahead of the forum. The training is already underway at the Public Support Headquarters, where the volunteer movement coordinators have developed a comprehensive program. In general, volunteering is rooted in the traditions of the Kalmyk people—it reflects their spirit and values. We want these young people to gain valuable experience that will benefit them in their future lives, to discover themselves. For our part, we will provide them with every possible support", - said Kamil Markeev, Head of the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Kalmykia.

As a reminder, the International Buddhist Forum “The Buddhist World in the New Millennium”, initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will be held from September 25 to 28 in Elista. Delegations from about 35 countries are expected to attend, bringing together more than 400 participants, including around 50 Buddhist clergy—teachers, spiritual leaders and temple abbots.
