Youth of Kalmykia will be able to take part in a major buddhist forum

The Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choidak, met with activists from youth associations of the republic. The meeting focused on the creation of a volunteer corps for the III International Buddhist Forum, which will be held in Kalmykia in 2025.
During the meeting with young people, the importance of the upcoming event was emphasized. The volunteer corps will play a key role in organizing and running the forum.
“It is important to approach the organization of this event comprehensively and to give it our full effort. Even small details will contribute to the overall impression. Guests will arrive from countries where Buddhism has been practiced for over two thousand years and is an integral part of daily life. That’s why it is essential to know our country’s history and culture and to treat our guests with respect,” - the Supreme Lama explained.
In turn, participants asked questions, particularly about the fundamentals of Buddhism and the Kalmyk language courses offered at the Central Khurul.
It is worth noting that those who wish to volunteer for the upcoming forum can register on the website - dobro.ru.
To recall, the first International Buddhist Forum was held in Ulan-Ude in August 2023. The Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choidak, and the Head of the region, Batu Khasikov, participated on behalf of Kalmykia. The forum was organized by the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia, the Government of Buryatia and the Foundation for the Promotion of Buddhist Education and Research, with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.
